how does it work?

Color and draw on the paper provided. Scan your drawing. Animals and flowers will come to life in the exhibition space! Stand still and flowers will bloom around you. Walk around and the flower petals will scatter. Move close to the animals and they will sense you and start moving.

Draw what you want by dragging and yet stay still and see them disappeearing

This is a single ecosystem where various creatures drawn by people live. Somewhere in this space are the animals that you have drawn.

Living things eat and are eaten by others, creating one ecosystem together. When the animal that you draw eats other animals, then it will increase in numbers. If animals cannot eat for a while or are eaten by others, they will die and disappear.

Flowers will bloom if you stand still, but will disperse if you walk around. Butterflies increase in places where there are flowers, and crocodiles die if they are stepped on too much.

As we immerse and meld ourselves into the work with others, we explore a continuity among people, as well as a new relationship that transcends the boundaries between people and the world.

Background of Artwork

Ecosystem

More than 10 million living species are said to exist on Earth. Each and every one of these species lives while interacting with the others. Plants create nutrition from rain, soil, and the sunlight (photosynthesis). Animals eat those plants. These animals, in turn, are eaten by other animals. When animals die bacteria decompose their bodies, allowing plants to use them for nutrition.

All these living things and the habitat they live in is known as an “ecosystem”. Inside an ecosystem, everyone plays a specific role. Therefore, when an animal or plant greatly changes in number due to climate change or human intervention, the ecosystem’s balance is destroyed, thus affecting all that live inside it.
