how does it work?
When the user makes a sound or claps, a stationary fragment comes out from the hole of the object and forms a pattern. This can be classified into the types of corresponding actions that induce the user to make a sound and affect the result of the production.
4D-PIXEL is a smart wall which physically reacts to your voice, music and shows 3D letters. This interactive sculpture is a merging of electromagnetics, software and electronics. The dynamic of the 4D-PIXEL wall is made of hundreds of pixels which react on the dynamic in sound frequencies. This way there is a direct relation between the human activity and the appearance of the surface; in this fusion between body and machine.
The sense that architectural space is more than a collage of construction elements combined with a desire to use 'interaction' as a basic building material drives the 4D-PIXEL wall. Developed as a responsive smart surface based on intelligent software and electromagnetic technology, the wall reacts physically to voice and sound. Its beauty is determined by the behaviour of the viewer, its shapes constantly evolving, reflecting new input collected from its immediate environment.
